Marketing Assistant

Messina Hof Winery & Resort is the most award-winning winery in Texas with 4 locations in Bryan, Grapevine, Fredericksburg, and Richmond. I was responsible for developing and assisting with the execution of strategic marketing campaigns for the entire brand — on social media, website, WordPress blog, e-mail blasts, over the radio, and in the wholesale market — and measuring success, while simultaneously managing sole ownership over the personalized label department.

Our creative team consisted of just 4 people, so this role allowed me to wear many hats, offered freedom to explore creative challenges, and taught me how to stay organized and sharp in a fast-paced environment.


  • Planned company-wide strategic campaigns and promotions, and assisted with the execution — using Adobe Creative Suite, photography/videography, copywriting, and communication skills

  • Managed Instagram, 4 Facebook pages, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn, and increased followers by 10.5K+ — utilizing Hootsuite, research, and relations development skills

  • Created functional digital and print brand collateral including newsletters, company marketing materials, labels, ads, spec sheets, radio scripts, posters, displays, e-blast, and advertising art

  • Generated creative copy including recipes, tutorials, announcements, and narratives to ~60K guests

  • Communicated all items to be promoted to Messina Hof staff and followed through on the status and results of assigned campaigns

  • Consults with corporations and individuals to create unique designs and templates based on custom needs

Voices for Children CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is an organization of volunteer advocates who stand up on behalf of abused and neglected children in court. As the Marketing and Development intern, I strengthened the culture by developing a blog series that highlighted the volunteers' dedication and hard work. I also increased visibility and engagement by using both MailChimp to communicate volunteer opportunities in a weekly newsletter and WordPress to share the nonprofit's mission to potential donors and the Brazos community.


  • Developed a blog series, interviewing, writing, and promoting stories of organization’s volunteers

  • Drafted and distributed monthly newsletters to an audience of 1600+ using MailChimp software

  • Updated company website on WordPress, utilizing SEO, graphics, photography skills, and readability

  • Researched 380+ potential sponsors’ contact information and 20+ local outreach event ideas
